Some introduction about our team at St Barnabas
Simon graduated from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, before working as a London for twenty years, during which time he was converted to Christ. After training for the ministry at George Whitefield College, Cape Town, he founded The City Partnership, a mission to reach and disciple businessmen with the gospel. In 2011, he and a small core planted St. Barnabas. He has been married to his wife, Gillian, for more than thirty years, and they have two daughters. Simon enjoys reading, James Bond movies and the occasional game of golf.
Raymond has been a Christian for over 25 years, serving the Lord with his wife, Alieta, in a number of different churches. He is currently the people’s warden with responsibilities in the area of pastoral care, counselling, missions, hospital visitation, men’s ministry, service, oversight, communion team, altar prayer and teaching. He has been married to Alieta for almost 27 years, and they have three children between them and seven grandchildren. Raymond is gentle and gracious and works part-time as a dental technician.
Alieta and her husband, Raymond, have been part of the original core that planted St. Barnabas in 2011. She has a passion to serve the Lord Jesus in every area of life, hence her job, especially in the areas of evangelism and one to one ministry. Alieta and Raymond head up ‘Reach and Teach’, a ministry that aims to share the gospel cross-culturally. Alieta is a keen line-dancer and natural medicine fundi and loves spending time with her family. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Alice is a classical piano student Monday to Friday and a Christian 24/7. Born in England, her family moved to South Africa in 2002 and now she calls Cape Town home. She grew up in a Christian family (a ministry family for the last 13 years) which laid the foundation for the loving relationship with the Lord Jesus which she now enjoys as an adult. She dreams of writing good songs for churches to sing. Her other passions include global missions, coffee dates with friends, Jane Austen and baking.
Gillian has been a Christian for almost twenty years after Jesus replaced horses as the love of her life. Whilst her primary ministry is helper to her husband, she has a passion for women to know their Bibles, and is the founder of Building on the Rock, a discipleship ministry encouraging ladies to live transformed lives for Jesus. Gillian enjoys hitting a tennis ball, watching birds and listening to her daughters make music.
